Practical information

Conference venue

The conference venue is the Informatics buildings: Ole-Johan Dahl’s and Kristen Nygaard’s buildings, and the Research Park at the University of Oslo. Ole-Johan Dahl’s building is the main conference venue, and will be open to the conference attendees from 8.00 to the conference program ends every day during the conference. The information desk and conference registration is right inside the main entrance of the building.

Monday 21. September: The main conference building is Ole-Johan Dahl’s building, where the first day of the conference will be held in the Smalltalk auditorium. Right inside the main entrance you will find the Registration desk, and all coffee & tea breaks will be served here. The posters will also be exhibited here. The program starts at 9.00.

Tuesday 21. September: The second and third day of the conference all sessions will take place in the other Informatics buildings: Kristen Nygaard’s building. On Tuesday, the sessions will take place in the Small auditorium. We will provide signs and guides to make sure you find your way. The program starts at 9.00.

Wednesday 22. September: The third day of the conference all sessions will take place in the other Informatics buildings: Kristen Nygaard’s building. On Wednesday the sessions are located in the Large auditorium. We will provide signs and guides to make sure you find your way. The program starts at 9.00.

The pre-conference program on Saturday 19. and Sunday 20. September: workshops, master classes, doctoral colloquium, will take place in Ole-Johan Dahl’s building, 2.nd and 3.rd floor. During the weekend the coffee/tea and lunch will be served in room Java on the 2.nd floor.

 

Contact persons during the conference

The student volunteers (in white T-shirts) can help out with most practical issues. The reception desk in Ole-Johan Dahl’s building can also help with practical (and technical) issues.

WIFI access at the conference venue

The network eduroam is available and you will also have access to the conference network: conferences with the password: andromeda

 

Meals and refreshments

Coffee & tea and refreshments are included on all days, including morning coffee & tea. We serve some fruit after the first session and a cake in the afternoon coffee & tea break. The refreshments will be served outside of the Smalltalk auditorium in Ole-Johan Dahl’s building.

Lunch on Monday and Tuesday will be served in the Research Park, across the square. On Wednesday the lunch bags will be available in the coffee & tea area.

On Sunday at 18.00-20.00 after the workshops/master class/doctoral colloquium there will be an informal get together in Ole-Johan Dahl’s building’s in the 2.nd floor (room Logo 2438).

On Monday there will be two receptions:

  • at 18.00-20.00 after the future of ECSCW discussion there will be a reception celebrating Kjeld Schmidt and Dave Randall in Ole-Johan Dahl’s building’s 5.th floor Faculty Club. The reception is given by University of Siegen and include drinks and tapas.
  • at 20.30-22.00 there will be an official reception in the Town Hall with drinks & finger food. There will be student volunteers and locals taking you there from the conference venue by metro.

On Tuesday at 20.00 the conference dinner will take place at Lofoten restaurant by the seaside. Lofoten is a fish restaurant and will serve a three course meal with a wine menu. There will be student volunteers and locals taking you there from the conference venue by metro.
